April 13 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
***CANCELLED*** Leave No Trace Awareness Workshop
Help Protect the Outdoor Places We Love! Take Some Action and Learn the Seven Principles of Leave No Trace
While we enjoy the natural world, Leave No Trace teaches us how to minimize our impacts.
The Leave No Trace Seven Principles provide an easily understood framework of minimum impact practices for anyone visiting the outdoors. Although Leave No Trace has its roots in backcountry settings, the Principles have been adapted so that they can be applied anywhere — from remote wilderness areas, to local parks and even in your own backyard. They also apply to almost every recreational activity. Each Principle covers a specific topic and provides detailed information for minimizing impacts.
Certificates will be issued following the workshop.
Instructor: Justin Balanca-Hawkes is a BHC volunteer, Eagle Scout, student at Quinsigamond Community College studying Environmental Sciences, and a Leave No Trace Trainer.
This event repeats April 20 at Blackstone River Watershed Council/Friends of the Blackstone in Manville, RI
