Science Saturday at Kelly House
Come out for Science Saturday at Kelly House. There will be outdoor recreation and science exploration every Saturday in July and August. In case of inclement weather, we will have alternate activities in the newly completed Kelly House barn.
July 7: Frisbee golf – come try your luck on our course! Frisbees provided.
July 14: Water testing – there is both a simplified test for younger children as well as a more comprehensive test kit for teens.
July 21: Scavenger hunts – come explore the park around Kelly House as you try to complete our nature, river and/or mill scavenger hunts.
July 28: Soil testing – test the soil around Kelly House for the nutrients needed to make things grow.
August 4: Kites and paper airplanes – bring your kite or borrow one of ours! There will also be paper and blueprints for creating paper airplanes.
August 11: Water testing and soil testing – in case you missed it the first time around, come out and try our water and soil testing kits. If there is enough interest, we will hold a water-testing day the second Saturday of September as well.
August 18: Magnets – come explore the world of magnetism! Makes things stay, make things go and find out whether or not nickels have any nickel in them…
August 25: Science blowout! – come close out the summer season with an extravaganza of all the fan-favorite science events of the summer.
BONUS! Sept. 1: Join us for the kickoff for the Blackstone Heritage Corridor’s September GO! Program with a variety of science- and outdoor-themed activities at the final Science Saturday at Kelly House of the season.
