The Founding Fathers and the Birth of Our Nation!
2026 marks the 250th anniversary of our country. As a celebration, many organizations will be doing their parts in making the public aware of the difficulty in creating a nation.
On Monday, December 2nd, Judge Terrance Turner will analyze the Founding Fathers’ post-revolution thoughts and concepts of the new country: their goals, objectives and fears engaging in “nation building”; how did they come up with the different powers of the new government; and, what would they think of America today?
Terrance Turner is a Municipal Court Probate Judge in Smithfield, a Professor of law at Bryant University, and a practicing attorney of general law. He has been a mentor for graduate law students, a panel speaker for the RI Bar Association, and legal counsel to various government agencies.
North Gate Toll House, located at 1873 Old Louisquisset Pike (Route 246), Lincoln, RI, is the headquarters of the Blackstone Valley Historical Society, which is dedicated to the history and antiquities of the Northern Rhode Island communities of Pawtucket, Central Falls, Lincoln, Cumberland, North Smithfield and Woonsocket.
