Traditions of Elegance: An Exhibit of Antique Linens & Lace
EVENT DATE: Saturday, May 8 12:30 – 4:00 PM – PURCHASE TICKETS BY May 3rd!
Just in time for Mother’s Day, this is a perfect treat for an outing with mom or friends. The event features an exhibit of timeless treasures of exquisite textiles from Hearthside’s collections in this new exhibit which provides an enriching look at the artistic heritage of the finest needlework.
These beloved heirlooms were made by hand during the 19th and 20th centuries. Shown are linens and textiles with elaborately detailed embroidery and tatting, meticulously crocheted doilies, bedspreads, and tablecloths, delicate lace collars and trims to adorn dresses and accessories, and coverlets handwoven by the Talbot weavers at Hearthside a hundred years ago.
This sentimental tour is sure to evoke memories of visits with grandma or just offer a real treat to admire the most beautiful and breathtaking textiles that women created for their households. Hearthside’s knowledgeable guides, in period attire, will host the exhibit that will be displayed throughout two floors of the museum.
A special gift bag with tea and treats will be provided to each guest to enjoy back at home. Advance tickets only for this event. Timed admissions every 15 minutes between 12:30-4:00 p.m. Hearthside’s Gift Shop will also be open with a special selection of gift items for mom, so count on an hour or so for your visit.
For the safety of all our guests and volunteers, we are limiting the number of guests per group to no more than 6 to allow for distancing throughout the self-guided tour. Face masks are required and a one-way pattern for moving through the house is in place. Hand sanitizers are also available.
