Volunteers-In-Parks Skills Workshop: Green Cleaning – For Your Home and The Planet
April 22 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Come celebrate Earth Day and learn all about green cleaning!
Would you like a clean home and one that won’t negatively impact the environment and your health (including your family and pets) by using toxic cleaners?
In this fun and informative workshop, local green cleaning experts Leslie Reichert and Verusca Mazzola will introduce you to some homemade non-toxic cleaners and will talk about which ingredients to avoid in store-bought ones.
You probably have many of the key green cleaning ingredients in your kitchen and bathroom cupboards but never thought of them as cleaners because you bake with them or administer first aid. Imagine salt, baking soda, cornstarch, hydrogen peroxide, and rubbing alcohol, just to name a few, can get your home clean and smelling fresh. Leslie will share some very simple recipes that you can create at home with four ingredients or less! Verusca will enlighten you about greenwashing and how to read labels. She’ll also share her success story about getting toxic cleaners out of a local school system.
Bring your questions and a notebook to jot down handy tips and green cleaning hacks!
Registration is required. Contact Suzanne Buchanan no later than April 17, 2019.
