DeTours

Our DeTours are a good thing!  They take you on special thematic adventures in the National Heritage Corridor.  Experience “Three Centuries in Three Miles” in lovely Lincoln, RI.  Hike, bike, canoe, or kayak on a Blackstone Valley Canal Tour through Rhode Island and Massachusetts.  Lose yourself in the “Landscape of Industry” as you travel from village to village.  Pass through a time portal by taking “A Walk in Whitinsville” in Massachusetts.  Getting off the beaten path can open a whole new world.

Self Guided Paddling

The Blackstone River and its watershed offer a multitude of boating experiences for the novice or the expert.  Explore the quiet, teeming marshes.  Shoot through the challenging narrows and unusual flows.  Don’t forget your camera!  There are at least 200 species of birds in the National Heritage Corridor, including 16 types of waterfowl.

Bikeway Access

Whether you are a casual rider or a dedicated mountain biker, there are cycling opportunities galore in the National Heritage Corridor – municipal and state park trail systems, Army Corps of Engineers facilities, and the Blackstone River Bikeway (BRB). The BRB is the jewel in the crown, a wonderful recreational amenity that will eventually run 50 miles from Worcester, MA, to Providence, RI.
