Blackstone Heritage Corridor Volunteer Trail Ambassador Phil has announced his fall hiking series taking place in the Massachusetts section of the Corridor.

Saturday, September 14, 2024 

10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. 

Cormier Woods Hike 

217 Chapin Street, Uxbridge, MA 

Enjoy a nice wooded three-mile hike to isolated and scenic Inman Pond. Some moderate uphill climbs. Joining on this hike is the property’s caretaker and historian, Jim Beauchamp.

10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. 

Douglas State Forest Hike 

107 Wallum Lake Road, Douglas, MA 

This 3.5-mile hike will follow the Mid-State Trail to the Rhode Island line, including Cedar Swamp and Coffeehouse Loop trails. Some rocky footing. Meet at the upper parking lot.

Castle Hill Farm Hike 

72 Castle Hill Road, Whitinsville, MA 

Enjoy a 2.5-mile hike along scenic trails, changing terrain, rock quarry, oak and pine woods, and open fields. This property is rich in mill history. A special guest will talk about farm life at Castle Hill Farm.

Wallis Pond Loop Hike 

110 Wallis Street, Douglas, MA 

Enjoy foliage views, cisterns, cellar holes, waterfall, and beaver dam on this 3.5-mile hike in Douglas State Forest. This address is not 100% accurate. Look for the dirt parking lot within 100 yards.

Hopedale Parklands Hike 

1 Hopedale Street, Hopedale, MA 

Enjoy a three-mile scenic hike through the woodlands with water views. As a special treat, the Little Red Shop Museum will open for hikers at the end of the hike. Parking available along Hopedale Street. Meet near the kiosk near the beach.

Inman Hill Mendon Town Forest and Wildlife Management Area Hike 

23 Inman Hill Road, Mendon, MA 

This hike is being held on a Sunday when no hunting is allowed on the property. Enjoy a 3+ mile hike through the wooded property. Meet beyond 23 Inman Hill Road. Follow dirt road to field for parking.

Shaw Farm Hike 

17 Shaw Lane, Sutton, MA 

Enjoy a 2.5-mile hike through farmland, forest, and conservation land. A local historian will be joining this hike. Learn about the registered Indian Trail Tree and more. This property is a no hunting zone.

Enjoy a 2.5-mile wooded hike to the famous Black Oak tree. Enjoy scenic views of Quinsigamond River and Lake Ripple. Meet at the kiosk. Deep snow will cancel this hike.
