Worcester Shakespeare Company presents “The Herbal Bed” by Peter Whelan.  The year is 1613.  The place is Stratford-upon-Avon.  William Shakespeare’s eldest daughter, Susanna Hall, has been accused of adultery with Rafe Smith, a married man.  Susanne, herself married to prominent Stratford doctor Jonathan Hall, sues her accuser, Jack Lane, for slander in the court of Worcester Cathedral.  Shakespeare’s presence looms ethereally over this emotional take of forbidden love and private intrigue.
