ROOTSTOCK – REVIVE THE ROOTS

Festivities kick off at 12 PM with bands starting at 12:30. Rootstock’s musical lineup features 8 bands from Providence’s local scene as well as acts from around New England. This year Revive the Roots welcomes to the stage: Big Brute, The Whelks, Sun Urchins, Convinced Friend, Number One Babe, Hopper, and winners of Motif Magazine’s 2023 Battle of the Bands, Meridian. An eclectic range of music, meandering through the realms of Rock n’ Roll, Americana, 90’s grunge, Folk, Pop, Bluegrass, Singer Songwriter Ballads, and genres yet to be named!

Shop 15 Art & Craft vendors, join an Entomologist for a Pollinator Safari, print a shirt with JAS Design and Screen-Printing, learn about wool felting and get creative with Cranston’s Artists’ Exchange. Cheer on and lend a hand as Smithfield’s own young artists live paint a mural, enjoy a tree stump carving demonstration, meet the sheep, chickens and ducks, and so much more. Come hungry! Snack and fill up on Jamaican patties from JA Patty and farm fresh bites from Providence’s Frog Bell Foods.

Meet Revive the Roots’ community partners, the amazing folks building community and taking environmental action in Rhode Island: Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council, Communities for People, Hope’s Harvest, Smithfield Land Trust and Rhode Island Land Trust Council, Groundwork RI, Harvest Cycle, Nuts & Bolts Nursery Cooperative, Smithfield Emergency Management, RI DEM and Queer Hikes.

Rootstock is the place to explore, meet new friends and discover new passions. A community-focused festival that is family-friendly and easy on the wallet. Tickets are donation based and can be reserved through Eventbrite (search “Rootstock”) or at revivetheroots.org. Follow @revivetheroots on Instagram and Facebook, and checkout revivetheroots.org for more information. Come rain or shine, Rootstock will take place on September 23rd from 12 PM to 6 PM unless there is severe weather. Rootstock is a drug and alcohol-free event.

Rootstock is made possible by a grant from the Rhode Island Foundation, the Revive the Roots crew of volunteers and support from True Music Studios, Overpass Projects, Jerry’s Artarama, R1 Indoor Karting, JA Patty, JF Moran, Mosaic Creatives, JAS Design and Screen-Printing, Hope’s Harvest, Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council, Level Beauty Collective, Artists’ Exchange, Nuts & Bolts Nursery Cooperative, Elizabeth’s Garden and Frog Bell Food.
