May 5 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Spring Celebration at the One-Room Schoolhouse
The pastoral setting of Chase Farm Park in Lincoln has become home to this meticulously restored one-room school building that served the children of Lincoln from the mid-1800s up until the early 1920s. Guests will be able to spend time in the historic schoolroom and explore its many period artifacts and materials.
Costumed volunteers, reenacting the roles of schoolmarms and schoolchildren, are eager to demonstrate school life of the “good old golden rule days” and share why this treasured building became known as “The Hot Potato School”.
All materials are provided with the admission cost of $10, the proceeds of which support the efforts of the all-volunteer organization Friends of Hearthside which serve as preservation stewards of the historic properties of the Great Road Heritage Campus and provide all programming and tours.
Reservations are scheduled at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 pm and can be made through greatroadheritagecampus.org. The event will be held rain or shine.
