Do you love gardening?  We are looking for people to attend this volunteer day and help plant a rain garden at the Blackstone Heritage Corridor  Visitor Center in Worcester!  Many hands are needed to help convert two bioretention swales into rain gardens with an assortment of carefully chosen native plants.  These plants will both help manage stormwater runoff and provide habitat for pollinators and birds.  Volunteers are needed to help spread compost, plant and spread mulch. Geocaching 101

Come to the Visitor Center for Geocaching 101, an introduction to Geocaching. This is a real-world, outdoor treasure-hunting game using GPS-enabled devices.  Participants will learn to navigate a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find geocache (container) hidden at that location. This is a fun, family friendly activity that addsa new layer to outdoor exploration.

Visit a village hidden within a city, Worcester's own "Little Sweden." Begin your tour at the Blackstone Heritage Corridor Visitor Center in Worcester. Discover the river, the canal and the railroad, each of which contributed to the industrial buildup of this area. Learn about the wire works, a major Worcester industry that relied on an immigration of workers from Sweden who tried preserving their cultural identity while assimilating into the community of Quinsigamond.
